Azul - Bordspel

Is een top familie spel. Geschikt vanaf 8 jaar, voor 2-4 spelers en de speelduur is ongeveer 40 minuten. Azul heeft ook de Nederlandse Spellenprijs gewonnen in 2018. Een Portugese Koning wil zijn paleis in Lissabon laten verfraaien met de mooiste mozaïeken. Iedere speler krijgt een eigen bord waarop het mozaïek gemaakt woord. In het midden van de tafel komen de tegelfabrieken te liggen, waar de tegels vanaf gepakt worden. Hoog aan het plafond is detail niet zo heel belangrijk (dat ziet de koning toch niet) en heb je aan 1 tegel genoeg om 1 deel van het mozaïek in kunnen vullen. Op ooghoogte moet het natuurlijk perfect zijn en heb je 5 tegels nodig voor 1 deel van het mozaïek. Weet je het mozaïek redelijk aaneengesloten te bouwen, dan verdien je daar flink punten mee. Een ronde is afgelopen zodra alle tegels van de tegelfabrieken door de spelers zijn weg gepakt, inclusief de tegels die niemand wil omdat niemand ze kwijt kan. Deze tegels leveren strafpunten op. Wanneer een speler een kolom helemaal af heeft weten te bouwen, wordt de ronde afgemaakt en eindigt het spel. Afgemaakte rijen en kolommen leveren bonuspunten op. Zelf vind ik Azul een geweldig bordspel. Hij is makkelijk aan te leren en redelijk snel te spelen. Speel je hem met twee, dan is het aan het eind van iedere ronde een tactisch gevecht om het aannaaien van de strafpunten. Met 3 of 4 spelers heb je minder controle en wordt Azul wat vriendelijker. De uitvoering van het spel is uitstekend verzorgt, mooie tegels en goed artwork. Het succes van Azul heeft er voor gezorgd dat er een uitbreiding beschikbaar is, Azul Kristal Mozaïek. Ook zijn er een aantal stand-alone varianten (Azul - De Ramen van Sintra en Azul - het Zomerpaviljoen), beide kan ik u aanbevelen. Dit geldt minder voor het kaart spel van Azul 5211. Bij aanvang van het spel ontvangt iedere speler een dobbelbeker met vijf dobbelstenen in de bijhorende kleur.
